Financial Literacy

A successful community depends on the success of its people, and financial literacy is key element in that equation. At Lake-Osceola State Bank we offer a wide range of activities designed to get people of all ages up to speed on money management skills. From understanding currency and its value, to balancing a checkbook, paying bills, and saving for the future, we’re here to help ensure everyone understands the important principles of money management.

In April of 2018, we participated in Teach a Child to Save Day, a National annual awareness day when bankers demonstrate their community commitment by teaching young people about the value of saving. Visiting classrooms, youth centers, after-school programs and more, LOSB bankers used their real-world knowledge and professional skills to encourage young people to start young, and save more. With a total of 18 presentations in 8 different area schools, we were able to reach over 400 students!

Because we believe it's never too early — or too late — to learn, we've served students, families, and people of all ages and income levels, and we will continue to do so as long as we're in business. Just as our mission statement says: "We will work side by side with the community to support, assist, and promote improvement to our quality of life."

Promoting financial literacy is just one way we can help our community thrive.
